The menu at Sabai Cafe & Bar reads like a culinary journey through Thailand and its neighboring regions. Whether you’re drawn to classic dishes like Pad See Ew with Chicken—broad, silky rice noodles stir-fried with fresh egg, broccoli, and cilantro—or adventurous options like the Avocado Curry Noodle that harmonizes creamy curry notes with delicate textures, there is something for every palate. Don’t miss the signature Crispy Thai Basil, a fragrant, spicy marvel that Dan Snyder calls his personal favorite, showcasing perfectly balanced heat and herbaceousness.
The starters set an exciting tone with dishes like Tempura Green Beans, which arrive crisp and airy; Crab Rangoon, rich and decadently golden; and Scallops Carpaccio, a fresh, elegant appetizer praised by Savannah Herrell for its finesse. The attention to detail extends to the bar program, where inventive cocktails like the zesty Gimlet and sweet Thai Tea-inspired drinks elevate the dining experience. Dorsa Rahmatpoor highlights the Gimlet as one of Eugene’s best, capturing the spirit of Sabai’s commitment to quality and creativity.
Seasonal specialties further enhance Sabai’s appeal. The Thai Steak Frite is a must-try for meat lovers—New York strip perfectly grilled to your preference, served alongside sweet yam fries and a spicy aioli that awakens the palate. Salmon in Panang Curry features fresh silver salmon enveloped in a luscious, aromatic curry sauce with vibrant green beans, spinach, and kaffir leaves, a dish that beautifully balances richness and freshness.
Spice lovers will find themselves in good hands here. Andrew Roberts notes that even a medium spice level packs a satisfying kick, evidencing the kitchen’s skill in layering heat with complex flavors. Portions are generous, making it easy to share plates or save some for later — an excellent way to savor the diverse flavors Sabai offers.
Service at Sabai Cafe & Bar consistently receives high praise for its friendliness and attentiveness. Whether walking in or coming with a reservation, guests quickly feel at ease, supported by staff who enhance the dining experience with knowledgeable recommendations and genuine hospitality.

Busy place! Be ready to wait but it’s great food. We are here passing through and loved it. I got the basil fried rice dish. Very good. Their spicy level is on the high side. I got medium and it was plenty of heat for me. The portions are large. You can easily share or you will probably have left overs.
Wow! We had such a great experience. The food was awesome and the service was excellent. We had a sampling of dishes, including the pockets of love, scallops carpaccio, tempura green beans, white angel on fire and the fancy Thai eggplant. Everything was great, I do wish our dishes were spicier but that is a personal preference. Looking forward to eating here again. I recommend reservations even for lunch because it was packed!
Sabai is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Eugene! The atmosphere is always warm, inviting, and full of great energy — perfect for both a casual night out or a special occasion. Their drinks are fantastic, and I especially love the gimlet — it’s one of the best in town. The food is consistently amazing, but my all-time favorite is the Spicy Cashew Noodles. I’ve tried a lot of dishes here, and I keep coming back to that one every time. Highly recommend Sabai for anyone looking for delicious food, great drinks, and an overall wonderful dining experience!
Excellent Thai spot in the outdoor shopping center, we were able to walk in without a reservation at lunch time. Interior of the restaurant is very well appointed, feels very hip. Staff were very friendly and responsive, excellent customer service. We tried the Yellow Curry and the Sabai Noodles, both dishes were large enough to split between two people and quite delicious. When ordering a dish you can specify your desired level of spice. If you enjoy Thai food I can confidentiality recommend Sabai.
One of our favorite Thai restaurants in the Eugene area. Welcoming environment, the staff are friendly and provide prompt service. The food and drinks are of good variety and flavor. Crispy Thai Basil is our favorite dish.
it is Monday night. It was still busy at 8 pm. The food was good and service also good.
For our two nights stay in Eugene, we enjoyed dinner at Sabai at both nights. Their authentic Thai food was so good that after the first night, we decided to eat there two nights in a roll. First thing first the drink. Love their signature cocktail which infused traditional Thai herbs but not overpowering. Very refreshing meanwhile have decent amount alcohol. Food is delicious with authentic Thai flavor. Strong, spicy but also subtle and complicated. We tried several dishes with chicken wings, steak, fish, eggplant and seafood. All have their own unique sauce and flavor. You just can not go wrong with the selection. Do keep in mind that Thai food can be quite spicy so choose your spicy level wisely. It can be a little off sometimes. The mild chicken wing we ordered is very tender juicy but its spicy level is stronger than the medium fish dish we ordered. Yoo spicy? Try their Thai tea, who is creamy and sweet to balance the flavor. Service is great. A waitress recognized us at the 2nd night and had a little chat with us. Friendly and attentive. The place is very busy during dinner time. So reservation is highly recommended otherwise you will probably have to wait a while before a table is available.
